PIMI for Issue #10 with Tom Waltz

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10 came out last week to stellar reviews. The shocking revelation of Shredder’s identity open up many questions. And who was the mysterious figure watching Casey and April? Keep reading to get some hints from Series writer Tom Waltz.

Q1: What a shocker, finding out Shredder’s Identity as being Oruku Saki, when will we know his secret of long life, or is it Resurrection ?

TW: Yep, I was hoping that would throw a few folks for a loop (hopefully in a good way). Safe to say, however, we do have a story in place for how it is Saki is here and in the flesh again, and we’ll start giving clues to how it has happened starting with issue #13. I can’t say much yet other than Karai has played a pivotal role in the events leading to Saki’s return.

Q2: When Casey and April were leaving the antique shop, a mysterious figure was watching them. How soon will we know who this person is?

TW:You will meet that person in issue #11, along with a few other new faces to our IDW TMNT universe. I have big plans for these characters and hope to present them in both familiar and fresh ways as our ongoing series progresses.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10

Coming out tomorrow, is the tenth issue of the IDW ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The issue is written by veteran Tom Waltz and drawn by Dan Duncan and colored by Ronda Pattison. So is this issue a worthy addition to this great comic series? Keep reading to find out!

Story:

Last issue ended with a cliffhanger and a reveal of a major character, in the form of Karai. This week the mood grows tense, as Master Splinter is given a choice by the murderous foot clan. A Test of Life and death.

The foot Clan, as Karai reveals, is fighting a war with an enemy who using the mutagen to create powerful warriors. In order to stand to this enemy, we are logically presuming Krang, the foot clan are recruiting (and maybe even making) mutants, this is why Splinter is brought before Shredder.

Meanwhile the turtles are being given sanctuary at April’s 2nd time around antique shop. In order to rest, then to locate and retrieve their beloved father.

Without spoiling too much the issue ends with the Shredder revealing his identity to Splinter. A shocking moment that will probably raise more questions than answers. The end of the issue also shows a mysterious figure who will leave fans guessing his/her identity.

Detailed info on Nick’s upcoming TMNT cartoon from London’s Expo

The highly anticipated Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was showcased yesterday at the London’s MCM Expo.

Thanks to, the lucky, Technodorme Forums user, Chris, we have a detailed description from what went on at the TMNT panel. Check it out below:

“Going into the main theatre, it was great to see all the chairs laid out with free TMNT goodies. The main screen had a clip on repeat (almost like a screen saver) that was just NYC backgrounds (nothing from the actual show) in blue, red, orange and purple hues, occasionally we’d get the hash tag #NickTurtles and the logo. Nick had guys there taping the panel and they came round recording us putting on our bandanas and making hero poses which was fun to watch. They warmed the crowd up having us shout out “I love being a turtle” and did the obligatory please turn off mobiles/recording devices “or a ninja will come and get you”. Then they brought out Nick Senior VP Rich Magallanes and, to massive applause, Kevin Eastman.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Color Classic #1

Coming out tomorrow, the first IDW color reprint of the classic Mirage TMNT comics will offer a new colorful look at the black and white comics of the 80’s.

There is no need to go into the story since we all know it by heart and at least read it 10 times. The main highlight of the book is the introduction of colors. So how does it look?

For an old Turtles fan since the 80’s i’m surprised to say that i really like the colored version of the book. While of course there is no way we can compare it to the black and white classic, just for the reason of it being classic, i think the colors are beautifully done and breath new life into a fan favorite comic. The dark mood and edginess is still present. And if you are afraid that the turtles will now have colored bandannas, then fear not, they all retain their classic red ones (even though i am a fan of the colored bandannas).
