Professor Honeycutt was instrumental in developing General Krang’s technology. But when he realized just how insanely tyrannical his boss was, he decided to defect. One doesn’t betray Krang without consequences, though, and Honeycutt’s only chance for survival was to transport his mind into a fugitive robot body! The resulting adventure leads the new ‘Fugitoid’ to Earth, and stands to affect the Turtles’ future in an unexpected and crucial way!”

New TMNT mini series from IDW + an annual by Kevin Eastman ?

Over at the IDW comic con panel, IDW’s Bobby Curnow announced that Kevin Eastman is working on 48 pages TMNT annual, set in the IDW continuity (Cover above). Bobby describes the annual as “FULL story by Kevin Eastman, with Tom on script (as opposed to co-story by Eastman/Waltz). Kevin on full art duties. It’s a 48 page stand-alone story set in the IDW universe.  It’s basically a caper gone awry, with various criminal factions in NYC vying for power, with the Turtles caught in the middle ” (Source: Technodrome forums).

MTV got the chance to talk to Kevin Eastman about the upcoming annual.

From the interview:

Geek: What’s your take on where Raphael is emotionally when this story starts?

KE: With this one, Tom and I wanted to keep it a bit more “less intense emotionally” if you will–yes the arc’s are strong and meaningful, but most of the beats relate to the what is going on at that moment in the story as opposed to the heavier over all structure–not that this is outside of that, but the pace was intended to be faster, reactionary to the layers we peel away then and there rather than the deeper stuff.

IGN recaps the Nick TMNT panel from Comic con

The turles sure made their presence felt at this year’s Comic con. From giant displays and exclusive videos to dedicated panel. The folks at IGN attended the panel, and lived through to tell us what was it all about.

From the article: ” When Nieli pitched it, he focused on the mutagen and what it does. He also felt it was important to put the ninja facets into the show and not let the other stuff dilute it. It’s important to him to use Dimension X and keep the science fiction aspects in mind. And of course, there are some minor alterations to the characters fans know. April O’Neil is aged down to be 16; Nieli said they wanted her to match up more closely with the turtles and play on the same field. She’s really just another member of the team. Nieli also stated that Splinter is “taller, younger, and more agile so he can keep up with the turtles.” He’ll be going on missions and standing against Shredder.”

IGM also posted a video recap of the panel, which you can view below:
