Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles #25 Preview/Review

“CITY FALL” part 4: City Fall continues as Shredder reveals his new second-in-command: Leonardo! While the underworld readies their armies, the Turtles must come together if they have any hope of saving their brother. Don’t miss this landmark 25th issue that sees the launch of a full-scale war on New York City! The Savate, Foot Clan, and Slash are all back — along with a couple of shocking special guests!

Mini Review:

The 4th issue in the City Fall story arc kicks the story into a full gear as the war between the Foot and The Savate is about to begin. Shredder is pleased with Leo’s performance, Splinter decides to make a difficult choice by joining a sworn enemy, and Karai has her own plans which involves creating two fan favorite mutants to be her subordinates.

Santolouco’s art is great, but can’t help to feel the Nick’s TMNT influence, which sometimes hurt the visuals especially when it comes to Donatello and Michelangelo, who seemed that they are getting younger by the issue.

Story and dialogue are top notch as usual, thanks to the talented Tom Waltz and Bobby Curnow. IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is really a gem that needs more recognition from the comic book world.
