Review/PReview of Secret History of the foot Clan: The mini Series ends with a bang!

The secret history of the foot took us all by surprise, as the previous issues offered strong storytelling and beautiful art. this final issue is no exception, except for an odd design change for some of the turtles.

Without spoiling the story, Secret History of The Foot Clan #4 concludes the mini series and offers many answers to those wondering about the history of the shredder. Not only do we learn how he came to power, but also how he was resurrected and why does he have against Krang. Top notch story telling i tell you that 😉

Preview and Review for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #16

After 15 issues of solid story telling, and comic book suspense, that you rarely see these days, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #16 is almost here, and still proves that IDW’s version of the turtles is a perfect one.

The book picks up where the last one left off, as the turtles are attacked by Slash, right when they were looking for a new home. It doesn’t take the four brothers long to know that the giant mutant snap turtle is going to be a problem for them unless they do something, permanent, about him. What follows up is a well written moral conversation between the brothers, while they are fighting slash, about whether it is right or wrong to kill him, knowing that he will not hesitate to do so.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Series: Splinter

Picking up in the middle of the Splinter/Foot clan fight from Issue #10 of the ongoing series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro series Splinter, focuses on the Rat master, as he remembers his previous life as the Ninja Hamato Yoshi.

Written by Erik Burnham, the issue sheds more light on Hamato Yoshi, and how he was always angry before he gets to meet the beautiful Tang Shen. The story also shows a bit of rivalry between Oroku Saki and Yoshi, but fails to sell it as cause of hatred between the two, which was my only complain for this issue. Without spoiling the story, the issue does give more depth to Splinter and confirms the reincarnation aspect of the series.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Color Classic #1

Coming out tomorrow, the first IDW color reprint of the classic Mirage TMNT comics will offer a new colorful look at the black and white comics of the 80’s.

There is no need to go into the story since we all know it by heart and at least read it 10 times. The main highlight of the book is the introduction of colors. So how does it look?

For an old Turtles fan since the 80’s i’m surprised to say that i really like the colored version of the book. While of course there is no way we can compare it to the black and white classic, just for the reason of it being classic, i think the colors are beautifully done and breath new life into a fan favorite comic. The dark mood and edginess is still present. And if you are afraid that the turtles will now have colored bandannas, then fear not, they all retain their classic red ones (even though i am a fan of the colored bandannas).
